Lea Montegut
Post-doctoral Fellow
After training as both an engineer and a biologist, Léa completed her Ph.D. in 2023 under the supervision of Pr. Guido Kroemer at the Cordeliers Research Center in Paris. There, she characterized the role of a novel metabolic checkpoint in cancer immunosurveillance and response to immunotherapy. She then extended the benefits of such metabolic strategies towards broader health-improving effects in the context of pathological aging. She joined the Merad lab in 2025 to study the participation of the myeloid compartment to the establishment of a disease-prone environment for age-related pathologies. By using high-dimensional characterization of disease models and patient samples, she aims to identify specific defects of aging myeloid cells that could be targeted to prevent diseases occurrence and improve their resolution.
