Nadine Serhan

Post-doctoral Fellow

Nadine Serhan received her PhD from Toulouse University in France, where her research focused on the interplay between the immune and nervous systems in the context of eczema, with particular emphasis on how prenatal stress may increase susceptibility to allergic diseases. She began her academic studies in Lebanon before pursuing doctoral training in France, where she developed a strong interest in neuro-immune interactions in inflammatory conditions.

Currently, Nadine is a postdoctoral researcher in the Merad Lab, where her work aims to explore a different facet of neuro-immunology, focusing on its role in cancer biology, in order to better understand how immune and neuronal signals could influence the tumor microenvironment.

Fun facts about myself:

  1. I’m usually the one in the group with a backup charger, extra snacks, and a backup plan (and probably a backup for the backup).

  2. I’m impatiently patient: I like things to move forward, but I’m learning how to wait with purpose (especially when science takes its sweet time).

  3. I genuinely care and love helping people, but my 45 unread messages on WhatsApp might tell a different story.
